Why android hits the mobile market in a storm?
I think android has given the freedom which the industry was waiting for. It provides the look and feel with the freedom, low cost, compact and simple operating system which the industry was waited for so long. The best thing about android is the freedom it provides to the developers to develop their applications via a simple java code.

Now before you Apple fanboys get all bent out of shape and start pointing at other sources for market share and looking for "real" figures, I leave you with this: Nielson is the same source that Apple used back in June to tout the "three times the market share of Android" figures.
